About Tablet PC

For years Brett Gilbertson was regularly stopped in cafes or on the street by complete strangers who were saying things like, "Wow, what is that!" It was his Tablet PC that they were shocked by... or at least that's what we think.

As an avid early adopter of new technology, Brett was on what they call the bleeding edge. And it literally was. Using Tablet PCs in 2002 was like bleeding... it hurt so bad. Fortunately the technology got to the point that it became good enough to use everyday.

The reaction to a Tablet PC in board room meetings is usually even more startled. One CEO exclaimed, "Why haven't my IT people told me about this!"

Brett suggests, "The reason that IT people don't know much about Tablet PCs is that they are typically overloaded and therefore concerned with ensuring normality and serviceability... not innovation. Unfortunately that also means that they're often not attuned to how new technology could benefit you."

Tablet PCs like the ones on this website were introduced with the launch of Microsoft Windows Tablet PC Edition in 2002. We're now into the fourth generation of Tablet PC hardware, and Tablets have become powerful and stable enough to replace many desktop PCs and laptops.

To speed up the adoption of Tablet PC technology, Brett created the tabletpc.com.au website in 2004.

Tablet PC is based in Melbourne and employs 3 staff. We team up with Hardware Vendors, IT and Software Partners that allow us to take on projects from delivering one Tablet PC to hundreds of Tablet PCs.
