Getac has a very big origin and a very long history in rugged computing. It was formed in 1989 as a joint venture of GE Aerospace and Mitac of Taiwan. The first Getac rugged portable computer was launched in 1991 and the first Getac rugged Tablet PC was introduced in 1996.
